2026 UIL Girls 4A State Golf Championship Recap: Andrews Claims Fourth Straight Title at Legends

For two days on May 4th and 5th, Legends Golf Course hosted some of the best high school golfers in Texas as teams from across the state arrived in Kingsland for the 2026 UIL Girls 4A State Golf Championship.

What followed was exactly what state championship golf should be: pressure-packed rounds, leaderboard swings, standout individual performances, and one unforgettable ace that quickly became the talk of the tournament.

By Tuesday afternoon, another championship trophy had been awarded, an individual medalist had emerged, and dozens of players had battled one of the most strategic layouts in Texas high school golf.

Andrews Takes Control Again

Coming into the tournament, the Andrews High School girls' program already carried one of the strongest reputations in Texas golf.

And by the end of Tuesday, the Lady Mustangs had added another title to their legacy.

After opening Monday with a team score of 317, Andrews held a narrow three-shot lead over Glen Rose High School heading into the final round.

But on Day 2, Andrews separated itself.

The Lady Mustangs posted an impressive 306 team score Tuesday to finish with a two-day total of 623, securing their fourth consecutive UIL 4A state championship and the program’s 21st state title overall.

Glen Rose finished runner-up at 637, while Frisco Panther Creek High School placed third with 669.

Rylen Darter Captures Individual State Championship

While Andrews controlled the team race, the individual leaderboard featured one of the week's strongest performances.

Rylen Darter of Taylor High School entered Tuesday with momentum after firing an opening-round 3-under 69, the best score of Day 1.

Darter stayed steady during the final round and finished with a two-day total of 140, securing the 2026 UIL Girls 4A individual state championship at Legends.

Her opening-round performance immediately established her as the player to chase, and she handled the pressure of the final day with composure throughout the round.

The Hole-in-One Everyone Was Talking About

State tournaments always produce memorable moments—but this one delivered something truly special.

During Monday’s opening round, Violet Wheeler of Lago Vista High School recorded a hole-in-one on Hole 4 at Legends.

Word spread quickly across the course as coaches, players, parents, and spectators reacted to one of the rarest moments in golf—especially on the state championship stage.

It instantly became one of the highlights of the week and added another unforgettable chapter to the tournament.

Strong Performances Across the Field

While Andrews claimed the team title and Darter secured medalist honors, there were standout performances throughout the leaderboard.

For Andrews, the depth of the lineup proved critical:

  • Nichole Thomas-Subia finished tied for fourth overall after an even-par final round.
  • Abby Ballou tied for 10th.
  • Sloane Livingston tied for 12th.
  • Briauna Van Horn tied for 14th.
  • Emma Sauceda tied for 18th.

That consistency across the lineup ultimately created the separation Andrews needed on Day 2.

For Glen Rose and Panther Creek, strong rounds throughout the tournament kept the pressure on and helped create one of the most competitive 4A fields in recent years.
