The Legends Cup is one of the most anticipated traditions in the Legends golf community, and this year was no different. In fact, the tournament sold out earlier than ever this year! Members return year after year to enjoy competitive play, good food, laughter, and a shared love of the game; all set against the stunning backdrop of Lake LBJ and the rolling Texas Hill Country.

Legends Cup Week: A Tradition Like No Other
The energy around Legends Golf Course starts building months before the opening tee shot. Registration opens about a month before (announced in our e-club newsletter), team captains are determined, and the rivalries start building from there.
Once the tournament week arrives, the team assignments are announced at the pre-tournament dinner—a tradition that feels more like a reunion than a competition.
This year kicked off with a welcome dinner at our Prop Shop patio, where friends, teammates, and new members gathered to talk strategy, swap stories, and enjoy great food (and yes, a little football, too). Team captains Ronna and Scott announced team assignments, splitting the field into Team Red (Ronna) and Team Blue (Scott). Everyone picked up their team shirts and started gearing up for the next day.
Day 1: Best Ball Battle
Day 1 of the 2025 Legends Cup teed off in perfect fall weather, with the 2-Person Best Ball format setting the tone for an exciting start. Both teams came out swinging.
Players showed off pinpoint approach shots, clutch putts, and of course, a few wild drives. By the time the last group walked up the 18th green, the leaderboard was tight:
- 🔵 Team Blue: 4½ points
- 🔴 Team Red: 3½ points
The Blue Team held a narrow lead heading into Day 2, but the competition was far from over. As the sun set over the Hill Country, teams gathered back at the clubhouse for a recap, refreshments, and a little friendly trash talk before the next round.
Day 2: The Scramble Showdown
If Day 1 was strategic, Day 2 was electric. The Scramble format meant teamwork was everything, and the competition ramped up from the very first tee.
With Team Blue holding a slim advantage, Team Red came out determined to turn the tide.
By the end of the round, the Red Team had gained serious ground, and then some. The scoreboard told the story:
- 🔴 Red Team: 9 points
- 🔵 Blue Team: 7 points
Momentum had shifted heading into the final day’s match play round.
Day 3: Match Play and a Legendary Finish
The final round of the Legends Cup always brings out the best in players, and this year was no exception. With a shotgun start at 1 PM, both teams had plenty of time to discuss strategy and ensure they were ready for the final push.
From the opening tee shots to the final putt on 18, the matches were tight and competitive. Spectators followed along, teammates cheered each other on, and the friendly rivalry between Red and Blue reached its peak.
When the final scores were tallied, one team stood victorious:
